WHO WE ARE

We are A Widow’s Window Africa aimed at helping women in widowhood move from a life of stigmatization to a life of value and purpose across Africa.

Our aim at AHF is to create programs and projects that will be of assistance to widows in order to promote their physical, emotional and social well being through;

  • Mentorship, Provision of financial advice & entrepreneurship assistance,
  • Creation of scholarship / award programs; a thinking hub for creation of ideas, and
  • Provision of health care assistance, among others.

We provide Education

Education is key to unlocking invisible women. We work to provide information, education, and exposition that will grow a better mindset of the girlchild, women, and widows.

We Fight for Widows

Our Mission
To enhance the dignity, and social wellbeing of widows through advocacy, education, training & development programmes and networking.

We provide Financial Empowerment

Our main focus at Almanah Hope Foundation is to empower and motivate as many widows as possible and ensue government to perform all the needful in empowering widows especially enacting, providing and implementing uniform policies, grants, aids and loans and using the locals in Nigeria.

We are the Mentor

We know the silent pain of widowhood for women especially in Africa where the effect of our cultural practices and beliefs can be traumatic.  We have become a mentor to women in widowhood giving  her a voice to speak out and be liberated to strive.

Violence against girls and young women has been trending in our society today, but the question still remains, to what extent has the fight gone at the grassroot, what does average Nigerian youth know about this menace? Thanks to Almanah Hope Foundation, it's educating programmes and competitions have enlightened our students on GBV and increased their creativity in the field of art. Our students especially the ones in senior classes became agents of change within the school as they made posters on violence pasted it in their classrooms using it to caution fellow students on any action that looks like act of violence. Bullying of the opposite sex has gone down drastically in our school. Thanks to Almanah Hope Foundation for this impact, I pray that you will be empowered to do more in the near future.

Thanks to Almanah Hope Foundation. Their programmes and competitions on Gender based violence education have enlightened our students on Gender based violence. The student creativity in the art has improved. They now draw different pictures to decorate our school and have a club on gbv, using the topics on debates and articles to depict violence and pass the message on how to stop violence against women. #16daysofactivism #orangetheworld

I was on the brink of suicide. Then I found the Almanah Hope Foundation Facebook group, where I connected with other widows who had faced similar struggles but refused to give up. Hope Nwakwesi invited me to the radio station where I told my story to create awareness of what widows go through, Madam Hope Nwakwesi, through her organisation, has been a great source of support through mentorship and financial resources
