The Gainlove Global aid network is hosting an event to educate our community about the services we provide and our foundational Family Support Principles. We will highlight voices and stories from community members impacted by The Gainlove Global aid network. We will also have a keynote speaker discussing social and racial equity and its impact on individuals and community outcomes. Our keynote speaker will be providing a deeper dive on the discussion of racial equity with a series that will follow our event in the winter of 2020.

Giving Hope to our Nigerian Widows

In collaboration with some organizations, the AHF has implemented programs to economically empower widows, women, and girls on skill acquisition training and financial support for over 1000 widows and women enabling many to regain independence and improve their livelihoods. Such programs not only provide immediate assistance but also contribute to long-term self-reliance and confidence among widows

AHF organises a gender-based violence education annually for the 16 days of activism to educate students on gender-based violence (GBV).
Over 250 public secondary schools in Anambra and Lagos State, and since 2017, we have seen participation, fostering awareness, and proactive discussions among youths. The program also led to the publication of the book "Message to the Youth," which explores the causes and effects of GBV, aiming to reorient cultural practices that violate the dignity of women and girls and 1000 copies distributed to students.

In 2020, The Widows Summit webinar, themed; "Making visible the Invisible Women, invisible problems" with the participation of delegates across the African continent, our Executive Director Ms. Hope NWAKWESI, reaching out to other widows leaders in Africa, initiated the African Widows Summit.

AHF, as one of the key organisers of The African Widows Summit, executed the inaugural African Widows Summit in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

The summit brought together delegates from over ten African countries to address the challenges faced by widows across the continent.

The event emphasized the need for integrating widows into government policy planning, focusing on widows' socio-economic inclusion in legal, finance, education, health, and housing.
