“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” Mother Teresa
We alone can only cast a stone to support a widow once a moment but in supporting more of the millions of Nigerian Widows, the drops of your donations are stones that we throw a distance every year to help out a widow, either in business or child education support.
Giving Hope to our Nigerian Widows
In collaboration with some organizations, the AHF has implemented programs to economically empower widows, women, and girls on skill acquisition training and financial support for over 1000 widows and women enabling many to regain independence and improve their livelihoods. Such programs not only provide immediate assistance but also contribute to long-term self-reliance and confidence among widows
AHF organises a gender-based violence education annually for the 16 days of activism to educate students on gender-based violence (GBV).
Over 250 public secondary schools in Anambra and Lagos State, and since 2017, we have seen participation, fostering awareness, and proactive discussions among youths. The program also led to the publication of the book "Message to the Youth," which explores the causes and effects of GBV, aiming to reorient cultural practices that violate the dignity of women and girls and 1000 copies distributed to students.
