The Almanah Hope Foundation observed the year’s International Widows’ Day on Saturday, June 22, 2019, with a charity walk. With the theme “End Every Widowhood Rites That Violate Women’s Dignity”, the charity walk which began at Ikeja City Mall was organized to support
and encourage widows. People came out en masses to give voice to their anger and frustration over the plight of widows.

We at AHF are motivated in building the socio-emotional well being of widows by eliminating the mental culture of segregation and alienation witnessed in fear and ignorance. The
undefined shame and approach which even the book of life, the bible agreed thus the
promise; “thou shall forget the shame/reproach of thy widowhood” Isa. 54:4c. The
programmers’, issues & discussions of/on widowhood had remained enclosed as others
breed on it for political propaganda and philanthropic grandiosity. The result I tell you is
continuing abuse and neglect thus; shame and reproach as self-esteem are being attacked
and/or destroyed. The charity walk is a yearly event held to mark the International Widows’
Day which is celebrated the world over on June 23.
